Congratulations! Right now, you’re probably thinking about moving into your own place or you’ve secured your first apartment. Or maybe you already have your own place and you’re just interested to see what’s included on this list. Either way, you’ve leveled up in adulthood and you deserve a nice champagne toast. So, I like to plan ahead or at least be somewhat prepared before taking huge steps such as moving into my first apartment. This year I am preparing to move into my first apartment, and I’ve been doing tons of research to prepare myself. I’ve compiled a list of the most important necessities I think every woman needs at her home. In the midst of being excited and planning all the things you want to do in your future home, make sure you’re prepared for everything that comes along with having your own place. Keep reading to find out more about the must-have items.
Or really any coffee machine that suits your needs. This will come in need for those days when you need that extra kick, and you don’t have to worry about spending $5 on a cup of coffee. You can also make tea, lattes, hot chocolate, and a variety of other drinks. Also, wouldn’t it be awesome to offer your besties a free delicious vanilla latte when they come to visit?
Basic Tool Kit.
You don’t have to become an expert handy(wo)man, but having a toolkit around will save you from future frustrations. Make sure your toolkit includes: screwdrivers (Phillips and slot head), hammer, tape measure, and scissors.
Zip-it Drain Cleaner
So, that slow-draining water can be very annoying. Save yourself the hassle by investing in this zip-it cleaner. You just push it down the drain and pull it back up to retrieve that runaway hair that always ends up down the drain. Also, invest in a plunger and Drano for other bathroom mishaps.
This is a very basic item that will come in a number of things. A dripping ceiling, leaking pipe, or simply just mopping the floor. It’s always good to have a bucket around.
You don’t have to worry about buying an actual first aid kit, just make sure you always have these items around: Band-aids, peroxide, triple antibiotic ointment, Benadryl, Ibuprofen, heating pad, and canned chicken soup for comfort.
If you are deeply terrified of bugs like me, then a fly swatter will definitely come in handy. You can get rid of those annoying bugs and do so from a distance with a fly swatter. There’s no need to vacant the entire apartment when you spot that spider in the corner.
Small Pan Set
Try to find some deals at your local department store and invest in a small pan set. You don’t need a bunch of pots and pans, just the basics will get you by.
A Quality Vacuum Cleaner
You’ll probably start off with a cheap vacuum cleaner to get by, or maybe someone will bless you with a really good vacuum cleaner. Either way, when it comes to the items in your home go for quality over quantity. You don’t want to have to buy the same item over and over again, just find good products that’ll last you.
Iron and Ironing Board
A basic item and a life saver. This is an item that won’t break the bank and will definitely come in handy. You may not use it every single day, but at least you don’t have to worry about trying to find any other option to get those wrinkles out of your favorite shirt.
